The design state of the infrastructure lifecycle allows you the flexibility to try various layouts and configurations for your infrastructures and evaluate feasibility and potential efficiency before you commit to the design.

Infrastructures in Design State

While an infrastructure is in the Design state, it is one of the following:

a brand new infrastructure begin developed by a user
a copy of an existing infrastructure, created by a "save as" action and being edited by the user
a design not yet submitted for validation

All infrastructures begin in the Design state and end in the Inactive state, where they can be deleted.

Capabilities

The Design state of the infrastructure lifecycle is the only state where all of the tools are turned on, allowing maximum flexibility.
