The Grid Gateway measures increments of consumed service in Service Units, or SUs. |
A Service Unit is the Gateway's unit of measure for showing usage of available resources within an account. Each infrastructure element is assigned an associated value that is measured against your available resources. The amount of resources available for an account is set by Grid Operations.
The SU Counter – The Gateway offers an optional graphic indicator, the SU Counter, that displays the current consumption rate of the infrastructure. The Counter changes according to user changes to the infrastructure that affect the account's available resources.

Counter Behavior - The behavior of the Counter is dependant on different circumstances.
If the user goes over their maximum, the bar graph displays a red portion that indicates by how much the maximum is exceeded.
If the user goes under their minimum SU value, the graph goes from 0 to the minimum. The bar displays a green colored portion that shows how much they are under their minimum.
If the infrastructure is undergoing design, then the SU Counter always indicates the infrastructure size. When the displayed value reaches the end of the bar, it drops down to the middle and starts counting up again.
