To set up monitoring, you first set up the conditions to monitor, and then set up the alarms. |
Follow these steps to set up an Element Monitor:
Open the active infrastructure in the Gateway Monitor area.
Right-click the server element you want to set up the monitor for, and the right-click menu appears. [Show me]
Select Monitor, and the Monitor Window appears. [Show me]
From the View drop-down list at the top of the screen, select Monitors, and the Monitors view appears.
At the bottom of the screen, click the [Create New Monitor] button, and the Create: Element Monitor dialog appears. [Show me] Near the top of the screen, the Applied to Node field displays the name of the element and the In Farm field displays the name of the infrastructure the element is in.
From the Monitor drop-down list, select the monitor you want to set up.
The server name appears beside Applied To Node.
The monitor name appears beside In Farm.
Set the Condition for each Variable State by clicking the field and then entering a number. [Show me]
In the Set Interval field, enter a number for how often the monitor should be sampled, and then select an increment of time from the drop-down list: Minutes, Seconds, or Hours.
In the Notes field, enter any notes or information about the monitor.
Click the [Apply] button to save the changes and continue configuring other items without exiting, or click [OK] to record the configuration settings. [OK] returns you to the Monitor Window.
To configure other items, repeat step 6 through 12.
Click [Close] to return to the main Monitor area (entrance to the Monitor).
Click [Commit Changes] to send the settings to the Control Plane.
Follow these steps to delete an Element Monitor:
Open the infrastructure in the Monitor.
Right-click the server element you want to delete a monitor for, and the right-click menu appears. [Show me]
Select Monitor, and the Monitor Window appears. [Show me]
From the View drop-down menu at the top of the screen, select Monitors, and the Monitors view appears.
To the right-hand side of the
Details Area towards the bottom
of the screen, click the [Delete]
button. [Show me]
The Element Monitor is deleted. The screen reloads and the monitor
no longer appears in the table at the top of the page.
