When your infrastructure design is complete, it is ready to submit to your Grid Operations for validation.
The procedure for submitting an infrastructure varies slightly depending on the your particular service conditions, but the basic steps are shared. |
Important: Grid Operations needs additional forms to be included with your submission. Links to the downloadable forms are provided through the Submission dialog. These forms must be submitted along with the infrastructure before a design can be validated.
Follow these steps to submit a design:
Open the infrastructure in the Editor.
Click the [Submit] button at the right-hand side of the Editor, and the Submission dialog appears. [Show me]
Click the radio button for the type of submission you want.
Click a radio button for one of the Computing Service Types, and a pop-up description for that service appears.
Indicate which servers are to be part of the baseline service, and which, if any, will be flex.
Enter the requested Start Date using its calendar widget (format: mm/dd/yyyy).
Enter the requested End Date using its calendar widget (format: mm/dd/yyyy). The end date is optional.
In the Submission Notes field, enter any notes or instructions you want to provide with the submittal.
Click [Submit]
to submit the request.
The design is evaluated for validation. Once approved, it moves to
Active state.
Important Notes:
1) Designs must be, not only saved, but submitted in order for validation to be initiated.
2) Designs not validated, for any reason, remain in Design state, but with a note or flag indicating the reason for non-validation.
