The Flex Service is one of Terraspring's key points of differentiation. It provides customers with quick access to incremental computing resources that can help them manage variations in the capacity demands. Customers have the capability to ramp these resources up and down to match their needs by flexing. |
|
The Flex Service features are:
Terraspring's most comprehensive SLA
Ability to designate a start date for design implementation
Terraspring approval of design
One allowed baseline infrastructure re-architecture per quarter to accommodate overall growth
Customer-controlled flexing
Add devices within an existing infrastructure to increase capacity
User initiated removal of devices to delete capacity
On-demand flex capability above baseline infrastructure size (but not below)
Flex band of a specified percentage/service offering by the number of SUs with the defined infrastructure
Configure any device in the infrastructure
The following conditions apply to flexing:
Add any number of servers to an infrastructure, up to the contracted SU/hr flex limit
Additional flex capacity is intended to be used dynamically; deploying or removing flex servers does not trigger a three-month commitment period
Delete unneeded flex servers down to the original baseline hardware at any time
Users of Flex Service only pay for actual hourly usage of flex capacity, although the SU rate for Flex Service is slightly higher than that of Basic Service.
